Apple TV+ has officially greenlit a new comedy series starring Elizabeth Banks, produced by Disney’s 20th Television.
Created by Liz Heldens (Will Trent, Friday Night Lights) and Matt Ward, the currently untitled project follows a divorcee who unexpectedly finds herself coordinating “sex dates” for the residents of her father’s retirement community.
This collaboration is particularly noteworthy as it brings together two industry giants, with Disney’s production arm developing premium content specifically for Apple’s streaming platform.
In addition to starring, Elizabeth Banks will serve as an executive producer through her Brownstone Productions banner, alongside showrunners Heldens and Ward. Production is slated to begin in Los Angeles later this year. This series marks another high-profile addition to Apple TV+’s acclaimed comedy roster, joining a lineup that includes hits like Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Platonic, and Loot.
