ITV’s streaming service, ITVX, has acquired the UK rights to the English-language fantasy romantic drama Fallen, a series originally commissioned by the Brazilian streamer Globoplay.
Based on the 2009 best-selling young-adult novel by American author Lauren Kate, the eight-part series is directed by Matt Hastings, known for his work on The Handmaid’s Tale and Shadowhunters.
Starring Jessica Alexander (The Little Mermaid) and Gijs Blom, the production also features a standout supporting cast including Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso), Alexander Siddig (Game of Thrones), and Timothy Innes (The Last Kingdom).
Fallen follows a young woman sent to the austere Sword & Cross reform facility, where she finds herself drawn to an enigmatic figure, only to discover a love that places her at the heart of an ancient war between heaven and hell.
After debuting on Globoplay in Brazil in the summer of 2024 and subsequently streaming on AMC Networks’ Sundance Now and AMC+ in the United States, this Silver Reel and Night Train Media co-production is now set to reach audiences across the United Kingdom.
