Dutch independent production companies SUPER7EVEN Productions and MN Media have joined forces to launch SuperIndie, an integrated studio dedicated to producing human-interest, nature, and social impact-driven documentaries and features with international appeal.
The venture brings together two highly successful factual players: SUPER7EVEN Productions, led by Jonathan de Jong, which previously achieved widespread acclaim with its dementia-themed documentary Human Forever, distributed in 31 countries and winner of a Dutch Golden Calf public award, and Jeffrey de Graaff’s MN Media, known for box office hits like The Wild North Sea, Planet Soil, and The New Wilderness, which collectively drew over 1.3 million cinemageders in the Netherlands.
SuperIndie’s inaugural slate features A Girl Like Rose, which goes behind the scenes of Belgian supermodel Rose Bertram’s life and career, alongside There Is No Society (the sequel to Human Forever), Patterns of Life, WOW!, and Ecolopolis. The newly formed studio will oversee both its own and third-party projects from the initial development phase all the way through to marketing and global sales.
With a long-term goal of building a network of partnerships with like-minded independent companies worldwide, SuperIndie has already secured its first international partnership with the Belgian company High Mass, recently launched by Benny Haesebrouck.
