Hamish Linklater, Michelle Buteau, and Simu Liu have joined the cast of Elizabeth Banks’ upcoming Apple TV comedy series in recurring roles.
The untitled half-hour comedy was created by Liz Heldens and Matt Ward, with previously announced cast members including Ted Danson, Katey Sagal, Rob Delaney, Jared Goldstein, and Spencer Moss.

The series follows Heidi (Elizabeth Banks), who is trying to rebuild her life after a messy divorce. Her plans for a fresh start take an unexpected turn when she finds herself coordinating her father’s (Ted Danson) romantic escapades at his retirement community, leading to an unlikely partnership with the perpetually single son of her father’s girlfriend.

Hamish Linklater will play Heidi’s ex-husband, Evan, while Michelle Buteau has been cast as Melissa, a successful advertising executive. Simu Liu will portray Dr. Zhou, the physician treating Heidi’s son.
Production is scheduled to begin later this year in Los Angeles. Produced by 20th Television for Apple TV, the series will feature Jonathan Krisel directing the pilot episode while also serving as an executive producer. Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman, and Krissy Wall will executive produce through Brownstone Productions.
