Netflix and AMC Studios have officially greenlit Bannerman, a spy thriller built around a former secret agent who discovers that leaving the espionage business may be easier said than done.
Adapted from John R. Maxim’s novels, the series follows Paul Bannerman as he tries to settle into an ordinary suburban existence, only to find himself surrounded by old adversaries, government suspicion and an ex-NYPD officer convinced that he is hiding something.
The series brings together an experienced creative team, with Craig Silverstein leading the project as showrunner and executive producer and Shane Black writing the premiere and directing the opening two episodes. Greg Nicotero and Brian Witten will also executive produce.
Bannerman represents the first series jointly developed and produced by AMC Studios and Netflix, with AMC airing the show first in the US and Canada and Netflix following 90 days after the season finale.
