ATV Distribution wrapped up MIPCOM 2026 following three days of intensive meetings and strong interest in its drama catalogue.
Müge Akar, ATV Distribution’s Group Head of Sales and Distribution, reflected on the market’s highlights, the participation of leading actors Burak Özçivit, Rahimcan Kapkap, and İrem Elçin, and the international prospects for the distributor’s latest titles.
With Land of the Sun and Different Lives among its key focuses, ATV Distribution also introduced Hamal to international buyers through an exclusive trailer prepared specifically for the event. Akar discussed the response to the three series and shared her expectations for new international deals following the market.
How would you sum up MIPCOM 2026 for ATV Distribution?
It was very busy. There was incredible interest. We had back-to-back meetings throughout the three days, and we have just finished all of them as we speak. It went really well, and we’re returning with great results.
You also brought several of your actors to Cannes this year. How important was their presence in connecting with international buyers and promoting your new titles?
Yes, our actors joined us as well. Burak Özçivit from Land of the Sun, and Rahimcan Kapkap and Elçin Zehra İrem from Different Lives, were here. They had the opportunity to connect with our international clients and made quite an impact. It was a great experience.
ATV Distribution also hosted a dinner during the market, bringing together executives from different territories alongside your actors.
We welcomed senior executives from various countries, ranging from Latin America to Europe and Asia. We spent a lovely evening together with them and our actors. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
What were the key highlights for ATV Distribution at this year’s MIPCOM? Which titles generated the strongest interest from international buyers?
ATV has a large catalogue, but this time we focused on two new-season titles: Different Lives and Land of the Sun. We also introduced our upcoming series Hamal. We prepared a special trailer for the occasion, which was shown exclusively here at MIPCOM.
There was a very high level of interest in all three series. Different Lives is already airing in 32 countries. Since it premiered in the summer, its international journey naturally started a little earlier.
Land of the Sun is still very new, but despite that, interest in the series was extremely high. I expect we will be announcing new deals following MIPCOM, as the response to both titles was very encouraging.
