Atresmedia Sales has secured multiple international deals for The Maid’s Daughters (Las hijas de la criada) at MIPCOM 2026, expanding the Spanish drama’s reach across Europe. Following its success on atresplayer and Antena 3 in Spain, the series will be available in Portugal, Ireland, Finland, Romania and Croatia.
The adaptation of Sonsoles Ónega’s Planeta Prize-winning novel, starring Verónica Sánchez, Carlota Baró and Alain Hernández, has been acquired by RTP in Portugal, TG4 in Ireland, YLE in Finland, Antena Group in Romania and HRT in Croatia.
The international agreements build on the series’ strong domestic performance. Its debut became atresplayer’s most successful launch in three years, while its Antena 3 broadcast ranked as Spain’s most-watched Spanish-language prime-time series in September. The series was also selected by international television consultancy THE WIT as one of the standout productions on the global market.
Atresmedia’s Spanish Dramas Draw International Interest
Several other Atresmedia fiction titles attracted interest from buyers across Europe, the Middle East and Latin America during the Cannes market.
Among them was Adrift (A la deriva), a drama starring Paula Echevarría, Daniel Grao and Michel Noher, which continues to release new episodes on atresplayer. The slate also included Agata & Lola (Ágata y Lola), a police procedural featuring Eva Martín and Mireia Oriol, and Hidden Brushstrokes (Trazos ocultos), an emotional thriller starring Toni Acosta and Rodolfo Sancho.
The second season of Between Lands (Entre tierras), starring Megan Montaner, also generated interest. The new season is scheduled to arrive in Antena 3’s prime-time lineup following its release on atresplayer earlier this year.
Atresmedia’s titles also featured prominently among the nominees for the PRODU Awards announced during MIPCOM 2026. The group and its productions received more than 30 nominations, including recognition for The Maid’s Daughters, Agata & Lola and Dreams of Freedom (Sueños de libertad).
Dreams of Freedom Continues Its Global Expansion
Another key title in Atresmedia’s international catalogue is Dreams of Freedom, starring Natalia Sánchez, Oriol Tarrasón and Dani Tatay. The daily drama remains a major performer on Antena 3 and began its latest season with its strongest September to date, according to the broadcaster.
The series continues to expand internationally, with distribution across Latin America and Brazil through HBO Max, as well as in Latvia and Lithuania via TV3, Romania through Happy Channel, Poland through TVP Play and the Middle East.
Atresmedia Strengthens Its International Fiction Portfolio
Atresmedia continues to position Spanish-language fiction for international audiences through Atresmedia Sales, with a catalogue spanning both established global hits and newer productions. Its internationally recognised titles include Money Heist (La Casa de Papel), Locked Up (Vis a vis), Velvet, Grand Hotel (Gran Hotel), Alba, The Cook of Castamar (La cocinera de Castamar) and Love You to Death (A Muerte).
The latest deals and buyer interest at MIPCOM reflect the company’s ongoing strategy of developing series designed to travel across territories and viewing platforms, reinforcing the international presence of Spanish fiction.
