In partnership with Beta Film, Videoland, and Millstreet Films, a vibrant new romantic dramedy series titled La Vida Barcelona is being brought to life against the dynamic and cosmopolitan backdrop of the Catalan metropolis.
This female-driven production features an acclaimed directorial team consisting of Katina Medina Mora (Emily in Paris, The Summer I Turned Pretty), Charlotte Scott-Wilson, and Ayla Spaans, starring Holly Mae Brood, Priscilla Delgado (Euphoria), and Greta Fernández (The Walking Dead).
Produced by Rachel van Bommel of Millstreet Films, the 8-part series follows Julia, a young Dutch designer secretly sent to Barcelona by her powerful mother to undermine a rival agency, only to find herself swept away by the city’s energy, her new career, and two different men. Having just wrapped filming in Barcelona, the production is now moving to Amsterdam, aiming to attract a global youth audience and directly compete with premium English-language international titles.
Furthermore, the project, whose world sales are handled by Beta Film, is backed by the Netherlands Film Fund Production Incentive, the Spanish Tax Rebate, and the Creative Europe MEDIA program.
