Red Sage Studios, a premium YA-focused production company founded by former Amazon MGM Studios International head James Farrell, has partnered with Sun Distribution to develop a feature film adaptation of Jessica Cunsolo’s bestselling novel She’s With Me, the first installment in a five-book saga.
Domingo González is set to write and direct the project, effectively reuniting with Farrell, Pokeepsie Films, and Webtoon Productions after their massive collaboration on Amazon’s hit Spanish romance trilogy Culpa Mía, which surpassed 100 million global viewers earlier this year. Just like Culpa Mía, She’s With Me began as a viral Wattpad phenomenon, accumulating over 215 million reads.
She’s With Me follows Amelia Collins, a teenager hidden in witness protection whose plan to fly under the radar at her new high school unravels when she collides with the school’s notorious bad boy, Aiden Parker, triggering a high-stakes mix of romance, suspense, drama, and humor.
To oversee its rapidly expanding portfolio, Red Sage Studios has also recruited CAA veteran Nick Lafferty as Chief Operating Officer following his 11-year tenure at the talent agency, where he most recently served as Co-Head of Global Television. This upcoming movie joins the studio’s premium development lineup, which already features highly anticipated adaptations of Danielle L. Jensen’s hit romantasy series The Bridge Kingdom and the award-winning romance webcomic Let’s Play.
